What is a Free Search versus a Detailed Search?
To determine if your name is listed in our database, you will need to do a free search on our homepage. A Free Search allows you to check as many names as you like, totally free of charge, to determine whether there is any unclaimed money available under those names. Once you have found your name, a Detailed Search is the next step in the process of claiming your
money. After purchasing a membership with Found Money, you will able to login to our Member’s Area to start your Detailed Search. This is where you will receive all of the account details and contact information necessary for you or your family members to claim the money you find.

How many different names can I search?

Can I search for just my family name?
Yes. When you begin your search, enter your family name in the "Last Name" box, and leave the "First Name" box empty. Then you click the "Click Here to Begin Your Free Search" button and you will see a list of all the accounts with your last name. Please note that with common names there may be hundreds of matches, which may result in very slow loading, especially with older browsers and slower Internet connections.

What does the letter or abbreviation after my name mean?
Some of the names listed will have a middle initial with them. If there is no middle name or initial, then it was not provided to us with the account details. Occasionally, a name will be followed by various abbreviations. It’s helpful to know that the way that names are listed in our database, are posted, as they were when the original account was created. If you do not recognize middle initials, or abbreviations, then chances are it belongs to someone with the same name since you did not use those with your own name.

What does Undisclosed Amount mean?
For SEARCH RESULTS that appear "Amount Undisclosed" they are valid unclaimed
money and/or property records which represent either:

-An account without a fixed cash value such as shares of stock, safety
deposit box contents, wills, etc.
